We have discovered why this key is named Green Turtle. Yesterday, just off our bow, we watched a huge green sea turtle swimming lazily around and occasionally popping his head up above the surface to breath and check things out. Unfortunately, it was too far away for us to capture an acceptable photo. Hopefully, we will get other photo opportunities in the future.
Arrluk remains anchored off of Green Turtle Cay, Abacos Bahamas awaiting improving sea conditions. It appears we may be able to continue south as early as this Friday, based upon forecasts of improving sea conditions.
Winds are supposed to change this afternoon and we are considering ducking into Black Harbor (behind New Plymouth in the below photo) at high tide to escape the brunt of the wind shifts and to get some much needed exercise exploring town. In the mean time, Arrluck is getting a much appreciated fresh water rinse off thanks to the arrival of forecast rains.
